Trail Trekking in the Tobacco Valley
The Trail Trekkers are a fit group of outdoor enthusiasts that gather together twice a week to enjoy all the beautiful trails that the Tobacco Valley has to offer. During the winter they might snow shoe and then come early spring they begin with some easy hikes to get everyone back in shape. By mid summer they will be found hiking a lot of vertical feet and perhaps even scrambling over some rocks.
Louise Burke Memorial Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon
The Louise Burke Memorial Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon has become something of an institution in Eureka. We know that just about the time that the tulips are blooming and lilacs start to come out, its time to look forward to this very special Friday luncheon. And this year's luncheon was the best yet. That first year there were 33 raised beds established with organic soil and an automatic drip system. This spring Jim Finley, garden manager, reports there are currently 47 beds available with the plan to add another sixteen.
