Holiday Shopping in the Tobacco Valley
The Saturday after Thanksgiving was a superb Shop Small day in the Tobacco Valley. Stores like Sunflower Moose and Montana Market had wonderful sales, and home-based businesses such as Simply Josephine and Sean Tribble Pottery set up tables in town to display their wares. Cafe Jax and Four Corners Restaurant had yummy specials to fortify shoppers who needed a break mid day.
Eureka Lions Football State Champs!
The Lions are the Montana State Champs in high school football for 2016!
In what was an exciting game to the end our Eureka Lions have bested Loyala-Sacred Heart and risen victorious. They are the spirit of a team, supporting and encouraging each other, and it showed in this game.

Toby Spribille's journey from a young boy home schooled in Montana to an esteemed scientist whose work is the cover story for the July 29, 2016 issue of Science magazine is remarkable...in many ways. He and his team of specialists have made a discovery that changes what was believed about lichens since their discovery 150 years ago.
It started with his passion for science and lichens. Lichens look like plants, but actually are two organisms, or so it was believed, that form one: a fungus partnering with an algae or a bacterium. They include the gorgeous orange, yellow and green decorations you see on rocks and trees and the light green or black hairy masses hanging from trees that the deer love to eat.
November is Happening!
What can be more fun than actively participating in small town activities? In cities, you become lost in the crowd. In the Tobacco Valley, you are recognized and called by name whether you stop in the post office to pick up mail or run into Montana Market for milk and bread. And November is a great month for taking this sense of being part of the community to a new level.
