The Forest Service has four lookout cabins and three lookout towers available for public rental in Lincoln County from June through September.

Due to very high fire danger in Lincoln County, the county commissioners signed an emergency resolution on June 30, 2015 banning the use of fireworks, and any open fires, including campfires, countywide.

The ban went into effect at 12:01 a.m. July 1, 2015. The ban will continue until fire conditions improve.

President Karas comes to Eureka and other outlying communities annually to listen to the ideas and concerns from residents.
