Our Story
Northwest Montana’s Tobacco Valley offers spectacular cross-country skiing with mountain views and trails for all ages and abilities.
The Tobacco Valley Nordic Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and hosting programs that foster safe and high-quality Nordic skiing, and advocating for an enjoyable and healthy winter lifestyle in the Tobacco Valley. We pursue our mission by grooming trails, supplying online trail maps, posting reports of current trail conditions, educating the community about the benefits of cross-country skiing, and offering safety training for winter sports. We currently groom trails for classic Nordic skiing in the Virginia Hill and Still Creek areas. We’re interested in expanding our trails system and grooming other areas and we encourage our membership to work with us in this effort.
Anyone can be a member of the club, and our current members have a wide range of skiing abilities, from flattrackers to telemarkers.
Trails groomed by the Tobacco Valley Nordic Club are free and don’t require a pass. Our members groom the trails, and we pay for this and club expenses through membership dues ($15 for an individual and $25 for a family) and donations.
We’re interested in expanding our membership and improving trail systems in the Tobacco Valley region. We’d also like to host ski swaps and cross-county skiing lessons for families in the Tobacco Valley region. Help us achieve our goals by joining the club and making donations.
