Our Story

Champion's Choice for Early Learning is a private, non-profit, Christian preschool. Our director, Kate Longacre, is a dedicated and gifted educator who loves children and holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education. All children ages 3-5 are welcome to join our enriched play-centered environment.

Our school provides a quality learning environment for preschool age children that meet the needs of the whole child while introducing them to teachings and lessons from the Bible. We have a low student to teacher ratio and the right mix of instruction to free time. We use hands-on activities that make each concept fun as well as educational.

Each student is regarded as a beautiful child, and is respected as such. We encourage and guide them to respect and cooperatively interact with each other. When needed, we use redirection, and short "time outs" for discipline so that children have a choice to return to an activity when they can play in a safe and friendly manner. We also provide direction when children have conflicts with sharing, hitting, or grabbing, to help them work out a solution that is acceptable to and understood by all. By providing the direction children need they will gain confidence to succeed when entering kindergarten, and beyond.

We provide family support with opportunities for parents to play and learn with their children. They can also engage in fun, interactive activities with other parents to establish and maintain an encouraging and nurturing support group. We are all about building relationships because studies show that "Families play a powerful role in shaping adult outcomes." So families and the children we serve will thrive and be supported while in our care, and after they leave our school, we support Fortine/Eureka MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and Best Beginnings of Lincoln County, who help families with child development, parenting classes and offer other resources..

See our website for information on our sliding scale tuition available to all who enroll, along with more details about our staff and programs. We are the choice for the champions in your home; encouraging your child to develop to their full potential by providing a rich environment with opportunities to explore, create, and learn.

What Fellow Teachers, Parents and Students are saying about us...

"Catherine is a brilliant student who brings joy and energy to a classroom. Her professionalism in and dedication to Early Childhood Education is phenomenal! When working with children she uses a gentle yet knowledgeable approach." T. H.

"My child raves about it. He can't wait to come. I've notice improvments in his language and social skills, and he's more interested in looking at books and in painting and coloring." Pam Hartman

"She [my daughter] is choosing books over toys and using her imagination more when reading! She’s recognizing letters in words around the house, like ‘Vicks' on the humidifier and saying, ‘That’s a k”. She’s choosing educational stuff more than ever before." Courtney Jordan.
