Called to a Montana Adoption
April 29, 2011 at 11:15 am my phone rang. Child Protect Services (CPS) was on the phone, a sweet voice says to me, we have a baby boy, he is 4 months old and just arrived via law enforcement. She tells me he was found in a known drug house, no one there knew where his parents were or much about him. He has an obvious eye infection and is “super adorable”.
Community Soup Night
Five years ago Claudia Evans and Pattiann Bennett decided there were individuals in Eureka who could use a hot meal at least one night a week. They began the Community Soup Night which is open to everyone from kids to oldsters. The dinner is served from 4:00 - 7:00pm every Tuesday. Each week a group or organization or church or business signs up to prepare the food, serve it and clean up.
The Spirit of the Season
The Spirit of the Season is one of hope and good will....you have many opportunities in our community to spread that Spirit to those in need.
The Food Pantry is taking donations of food that will be given out for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. They need all the fixins' such as turkeys, potatoes, cranberry sauce, vegies, pumpkin, fruits....you all know what's involved in a holiday feast! They will be accepting donations for the Holiday Baskets through Mon., Dec. 22.
Jonathan Kingham and Ryan Shea Smith
Just when you thought the winter was a bit long, the days too short and the holiday festivities were over, two fantastic musicians came to the Tobacco Valley to brighten things up. And they weren't just breezing through for a one-night stand, they were around town for four days leading song writing workshops at the high school, performing at the nursing home for residents, meeting up with local musicians and finishing with a Friday night concert.
