How Eureka's Jesse Phillips accidentally started up a band called St. Paul and the Broken Bones

When I finally get ahold of Jesse Phillips, the bassist for St. Paul and the Broken Bones, he and the band are stranded in Texas. That morning, they awakened to a fire alarm and billowing smoke in their tour bus. "It was an electrical fire or some kind of meltdown," Phillips says. "So, we're marooned at this Motel 6 in Wichita Falls until a new bus gets here from Nashville to pick us up and carry us on our way."

On Tuesday, March 3rd the Navy Seals, Anthony Page and Jason Larson, partnered with the American Athletic Institute, LC Unite for Youth Coalition to present a workshop for selected High School athletes and coaches in Lincoln County. They had an evening presentation for students and all community members after the daylong workshops in Libby and Eureka. Eureka's was Tuesday, March 3 from 5:30 – 7:00 in the Lincoln County High School Gym.

Exploring the Kootenai Trail
Early settlement of the Tobacco Valley was closely tied to the extension of the Great Northern Railroad from Columbia Falls to the Town of Rexford. This railroad link was started in 1901 and finally completed in 1904. It was built to connect the Fernie Branch Railroad which hugged the east bank of the Kootenai River to gain better access to British Columbia.
