Our Story

At Mountain Vista Veterinary Services we care about you and your animals. We are committed to providing high quality, honest and compassionate care. Our patients include both large and small animals and we treat all of them as though they were our own, with respect, dignity, and tenderness.

Dr. Nancy Haugan has been providing exceptional quality care to animals in the Tobacco Valley since 1997. Dr. Robyn Thompson from Whitefish, joined the staff in 2011, bringing 20+ years of veterinary experience. Our visiting surgeon, Dr. Rick Scherr, is available for orthopedic surgeries, such as TPLO, arthroscopy, bone plating, PRP (platelet enriched plasma) treatments as well as extensive, specialized surgical procedures.

We promote wellness services, annual exams, geriatric blood screening, vaccinations, dentistry, heartworm prevention, and spay/neuters. Mountain Vista offers surgery services, in house blood work, radiology, and ultrasound. Equine services include vaccinations, dentistry, wound repair, castrations and ultrasound pregnancy testing.

Emergency services after hours and on weekends are available if needed.

Good quality food and proper dental care make an tremendous difference in your animals health. We carry Science Diet Prescription Food and Precise Pet Food.

Mountain Vista has been partnering with Friends of the Shelter and Lincoln County to offer reduced cost spays and neuters for pets belonging to low income families and for feral or barn cats and animals adopted from shelters. The program has been a great success.

We also support other local rescue groups such as the Fernie Pet Society and Critter Rescue.

Our expert support staff at Mountain Vist; Dina, Lori, Judy, Kris, Jodi, Kelly, and Levetta are all ready to assist you with all your animal needs and concerns, giving the very best care and attention to all of their patients.

We treat our clients as we would treat our families, and we treat our clients' pets as though they were our own; with respect, dignity and compassion. Our clients and patients are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here."

What Happy Animal Lovers are saying about us...

"Ok, let me count the ways: saved Choteau's life 3 times, saved Thaddeus's life 2 times - all emergencies (4 surgeries!) requiring Dr.Haugan to come in after hours. She has spayed and neutered 3 of my animals and did an amazing job. She is calm and decisive. I trust her opinion and appreciate the fine care she provides to all my dogs. Love her! And the staff is great and always helpful and try to get you in as soon as they can. Everyone shows empathy and concern for your animals. I am so glad to have this clinic so close to home! You guys rock!" L.M.

"Whether it's our horses or our dog this is our go to place for animal health:)" R.M.
