Historic Village in Eureka Montana

A visit to the Historical Village is a step back in time. Located at the south end of Eureka among tall green trees and on visitor-friendly grounds, you can explore at your leisure ten historic village structures and a vast number of artifacts and archival materials originating from the Tobacco Valley area. Find out first-hand as you visit each one, the story of the structure and its contents. You will see how the first non-native settlers of this area lived, raised their families, earned a living and negotiated the vast northwestern Montana landscape.

This unique historic village is owned by the not-for-profit Tobacco Valley Board of History and operated by local volunteers. Our grounds are open year round and our structures are free and open to the public from Memorial to Labor Day. Please feel free to visit our village and when our museum is open, browse our exceptional collection of local history books, souvenirs, locally-made quilts and mementos.

Northwestern Montana is a charming area of quaint towns, millions of acres of state and federal land, hiking, camping, waterfalls, rock climbing, fishing and hunting, skiing and snowmobiling. We offer an impressive collection of shops, art galleries, golf courses, bed and breakfasts, spas, and restaurants not to mention annual events such as the Bull Thing, the Ten Lakes Snowmobile Fun Run, and the Eureka Montana Quilt Show. Enjoy the outdoors and the small town spirit that makes you feel right at home. Stay for a short trip, or meet with a realtor to find out about owning your own little piece of Montana real estate.

Where are we and how do you get here? Fly into Glacier National Park Airport (FCA) or Spokane International Airport (GEG). Eureka is 7 miles from the Canadian (Roosville) Border and 67 miles east of Libby or 51 miles north of Whitefish.
