JUST SAY NO TO GMO

Just say no to GMO

On Saturday May 23, Eureka is holding its first annual Millions Against Monsanto event. Monsanto is the dominant biotech industrial giant that has been fast and furiously changing our food supply, for the last 20 years, with its introduction of GMO’s. Many would say in a very scary way.

GMOs, (genetically modified organisms) are un-naturally created when the genes from un-related organisms, such as viruses or bacteria’s are inserted into a plant or animal. For over 20 years these companies have been quietly slipping these new species into the U.S. food supply (with no oversight whatsoever) to the extent that now over 75% of all non-organic foods that we, and our meat supplying animals eat, contain GMO ingredients. Some call these newly ‘created’ organisms Frankenfoods. Many scientists think the long term affects could account for the soaring rates of chronic diseases in the U.S during the last 20 years, the same time period that GMOs have been un-knowingly introduced.

You are invited and urged to join our grassroots movement against we the people being used as guinea pigs without our permission.

GMOs are banned in 60 other countries. The United States won’t conduct any long term testing and won’t allow foods containing GMOs to be labeled. WHY?

And why has there never been a live television broadcast in the U.S. aired about the Millions Against Monsanto marches, when they have happened in over 330 cities around the world?

This is the 3rd year this world wide event is taking place. It was started in California by Tami Canal in 2013, after Proposition 37, a people’s initiative that required labeling foods containing GMOs, failed. It barely lost after the biotech industry and other food supply giants spent 45 million dollars to defeat it by spreading misinformation.

Please join the Eureka event, (one of those being held around the world), on May 23 at Riverside Park from 11am to 2pm and get more information on this vital issue and how to avoid these poisoned foods.

And, we are excited that our local treasure, The Deep Creek Union Band (Henderson’s/Quillings) will be performing at this event.

You can ‘friend’ us on Facebook at GMO-FREE Eureka Montana. All donations of time or money would be appreciated.

Thanks to Visit NW Montana for including our info on their site.

Hope to see you at Riverside Park on May 23.

Organizers: Heavens Peak Organics, Carol Blake.
